Edward Zuraw Obituary

ZURAW, Edward, 85, of Mechanicsville, passed away July 10, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Kate Zuraw; three brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Leon Zuraw; and one son, Bobby Revere. His wife of 51 years, Elizabeth P. Zuraw, is left to cherish his memory. Four children also survive him, Debbie Bergquam of Post Falls, Idaho, Mary Poe of Mechanicsville, David Zuraw and wife, Terry, of Chesterfield, and Barbara Walter and husband, Carl, of Mechanicsville. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Angie, Stacey, Vicki, Bethany, Jarrod and Travis; four great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Tom Pierce; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Edward was a WWII veteran who worked for 15 years as a security guard at Wackenhut Corporation, retired from Tidewater Yacht Agency, and was a member and "regular" of the Tuckahoe Moose Lodge. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at the Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, followed by a burial in Shacklefords Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad, 8105 Walnut Grove, Mechanicsville, Va, 23111.
