Elaine Taylor-Johnson

TAYLOR-JOHNSON, Elaine, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 68 on May 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Elaine enjoyed a lively childhood, growing up with her siblings in several residences in the Richmond area. She and her sister, Joyce, spent several years in southern California with their older brother Johnnie before returning to Richmond in the early 70s. Elaine attended Van De Vyver Elementary School and graduated from George Wythe High School in Richmond, VA. She lived in the Blackwell community, where her home was the hub for family, neighbors, and friends to gather. Elaine later graduated from Strayer University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Elaine was an assistant property manager at the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority for over 20 years until she retired.

Elaine is preceded in death by her late husband, George F. Johnson; parents, Joseph and Alice Ridley, Sr.; her sister, Jacquline Cosby, Joyce Ridley; and her granddaughter, Taylor Harding.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her three children: Victoria Harding, Isaac Taylor, and Tiara Taylor; and her six cherished grandchildren: (Roy Toston, Tyrell Gary, Joshua Toston, Anthony Gary, Kiara Taylor-Stewart, and Kennedy Taylor-Carson). Her circle of family extends beyond blood, including her close and dear friends, neighbors, and co-workers, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
