Elizabeth L. "Betty" Bellamy

1933 - 2024

BELLAMY, Elizabeth "Betty" L., 90, of Chesterfield, died peacefully at The Holly Inn at Brandermill Woods on Friday, January 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph "Joe" R. Bellamy. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Glenn Trimmer, and Kay and Scott Whitney; grandchildren, Ross Trimmer and wife Erin, Meghan W. Carr and husband Michael, and Emily W. Miller and husband Coleman; great-grandchildren, Oliver Trimmer, Evelyn and Bennett Carr and Joseph and Tyler Miller. Betty graduated from Manchester High School, class of 1951. There, friendships were made that lasted a lifetime with her "Phase 10 Girls." She worked as a secretary for Southern States and retired from the CIT Corporation. Branch's Baptist Church became her church home, joining in 1951 and later marrying Joe on April 25, 1953. Betty and Joe raised their girls and were faithful members at Branch's for almost 60 years, serving on committees and volunteering in the Food Pantry and with Vacation Bible School. The family wants to thank the wonderful staff at Brandermill Woods Memory Care, under the director Carolyn Willliams, for the love, care, and support they gave Mom and our family during her time there. Also, to Ascend Hospice, Lisa and Sarah, who cared lovingly for her these past few months.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, N. Chesterfield, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at Dale Memorial Park.
