Elizabeth Lewis Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Lewis

July 6, 1963 - March 14, 2025

Elizabeth Ann Lewis (Beth), 61, of Richmond, Va. died Friday, March 14, 2025 of Melanoma Brain Metastases after a courageous two year long battle.

She was predeceased by her parents, John J. and Ann McDonald Lewis; and her brother, Donald J. Lewis. She is survived by her wife of 32 years, Lisa N. Cohee; son, Nathan C. Cohee; his wife, Rachel; siblings, Rev. Walter G. Lewis, Joann L. Schroeder and her husband, Mark, Christopher A. Lewis and his wife, Kym Wellons, Judith L. Heretic and her husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Helen B. Lewis; family friend, Monsignor Kevin W. Irwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Always positive, making new friends until the end, her life well lived was evidenced by the continuous parade of family and friends that came for coffee, meals, "porch time" and bedside visits in her last months. The cards, letters, and flowers attested to deep appreciation for her sharing of time and talent at work and with friends. She never met a project that she wouldn't tackle and her home and yard evidenced her tenacity.

The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Catholic Church from 5:30 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, March 20th, with a Christian Wake service at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's on Friday, March 21st, at 11 a.m., Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Beth requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church or St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church.

The thing I remember and loved most about Beth is that she was nice to me. We worked at Athem/HMC together for several years. She was one of the brightest personalities (and minds) there. I will always remember her smiling and being a friend and peacemaker. May her memory be a blessing.

So sorry to hear of Beth´s passing. I met Beth while working at Anthem and everyday there was always laughter but yet hard work. She will be remembered as one of the best.

My most sincere sympathy for Beth's family & closest friends. She was a Shining Light in our mediocre world. I only knew her for a brief time, but that was enough to know her love of life.
