Elizabeth Anne Rawls

1965 - 2023

RAWLS, Elizabeth Anne, 58, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 17, 2023. Elizabeth was welcomed into this world on June 21, 1965 by her proud parents, Anne and John Rawls. She was destined to be a people person and always gave of herself to help others. Elizabeth graduated from Lee-Davis High School and received a BS in Business from Mary Baldwin College. She went to work at the Bank of America, where she remained for 37 years. Elizabeth was always eager to help anyone in need, volunteering at the USO, Junior League, and Moose Charities. Her kindness and pleasant personality secured friendships wherever she ventured. She loved to travel. Shopping was her favorite thing. Elizabeth loved animals. Her two golden retrievers, Jack and Tucker, were always by her side. She loved the Rappahannock River. Her face could be seen often at the beach in a golf cart with her two dogs. Elizabeth leaves behind her mother, Anne Rawls; two brothers, John Rawls, Jr. (Cathy) and Pete Rawls (Kathy); three nephews, Jacob, Jeremy, and Jonathan; and a niece, Caroline.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd, where a celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The celebration of her life will continue at Richmond East Moose Lodge, 7167 Flag Ln, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 immediately after the interment. The family prefers that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the SPCA, 2519 Hermitage Rd, Richmond, VA 23220, Hanover Humane Society, 12190 Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA 23005, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Richmond East Moose Lodge.
