Emory Moore Obituary
April 28, 1942 - November 5, 2025
Emory 'Nick' Austin Moore, Jr., 83, of Mechnicsville, VA, passed away on November 4, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emory Austin Moore, Sr. and Winnie Perkins Moore; and sister, Frances Murphy. Nick is survived by his beloved wife of over 33 years, Gail Moore; sons, Colin (Mary) Moore and Ryan (Ali) Moore, and his two children, Reily and Alex; his stepsons, Jeremy Blankenship and Jamie Blankenship, and his two daughters, Lydia and Kayden; as well as many friends and co-workers that will mourn his passing.
Born in Kenbridge, VA, Nick graduated with a master's degree in engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute before working for many years for his father in construction. He then began working for Ashcake Road Landfill where he became General Manager has been a proud and hardworking member of their team for over 40 years. When he wasn't in the office or on site, Nick and Gail enjoyed traveling to auctions and markets to collect antique furniture.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Road, after which a celebration of Nick's life will follow. Interment will take place in Dale Memorial Park Mausoleum at 2 p.m. For condolences visit www.blileys.com.
