Evelyn Chenault Loftis, age 94, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Duke M. Loftis; her brothers, A. Lee Chenault and Percy F. Chenault; and her sisters, June C. Wilson, Demple C. Barlow, and Arlene C. Barlow.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Delores C. Golden (Jimmy), of Ruther Glen, Virginia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly. She is also survived by her loving and devoted caregiver, Pam Whittaker.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for Evelyn's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, on Sunday, December 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frog Level Fire Department, P.O. Box 201, Hanover, VA 23069. Online condolences and fond memories of Evelyn may be offered to the family on the Nelsen Funeral Home- Reid Chapel website.

I was on vacation when my girl "Snackz" ( that's the nickname I gave her) passed away. She was one of my residents at CW. She was something else. I loved her everyday. Plenty memories I have to remember her by. Definitely gonna miss her little self.
