To My Aunt Fornie, fondly renamed by me as Flo Ro. What I remember most about my aunt is that she was always smiling, and always had a hug and kiss for you. She was the epitome of kind-hearted, and would do anything for any one. Coming to visit Flo Ro in the big metropolis of Clarksville is something I looked forward to as far back as I can remember. We always had a great time - playing ball in the yard, playing records and dancing and singing, swimming, boating, shopping - we did it all in Clarksville. When we were very young, Flo Ro drove my sisters and me over the NC border just so we could say we had been out of the state of VA. It was so cool that she did this for us!! One time when Mother & I came down to visit unexpectedly, Fornie opened the door and said, "Oh no! I don't have any milk!" From that point forward, we always joked about whether or not Flo Ro had milk on hand. I adored, respected and loved my Aunt Fornie. She was everything I ever hoped to be. The closest I could ever come to filling her shoes was to honor her by having my grandaughter, Chloe, call me Gamma. I sure hope God had some milk when my Aunt Fornie, Flo Ro, knocked on his door!!
