Frances Glasco Obituary

GLASCO, Frances Hopkins, 89, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Her daughter, Denise and son in-law, Kevin were by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bo Glasco; and son, Clint Glasco. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Updike (Kevin Tipler); daughter-in-law, Cameron Glasco; grandchildren, Jonathan, Ariel, Kelsey, Larissa, Chandre; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gayle Davis and Alice Stoner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was born in Richmond, Va. but spent her growing up years in Staunton, Va., where she had great memories of living in a house overlooking Gypsy Hill Park with a frequently used swing on the front porch. She loved to cook, sew, knit and read and did them all with skill and passion. She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and was a dedicated member of Fairmount Christian Church. Frances was gracious and kind, a beautiful, quiet soul, setting an example of love and servanthood in all that she did. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Online Condolences may be registered at www.bennettfuneralhomes.com. Flowers and remembrances may be sent to Fairmount Christian Church.

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I share in the passing of my forever beloved mother in law, who was known for her kindness, warmth, and generosity. She was an exemplary host, and her family gatherings were always filled with love, laughter, and delicious food.
She was a wonderful wife to Bo Glasco, and mother to Denise and grandmother to Jonathan and Ariel. Her unwavering love and devotion to her family was truly inspiring. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
As I mourn her loss, I take comfort in the words of Proverbs 31:28-29, which says "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but she made every effort in the most humble and gracious way to surpass many in her generation.
Frances lived a life of faithfulness and devotion to her family, and I will always cherish her profound expressions of love towards me and my family. Even in the last years of her life... she being in ill health. She strongly believed in a mission to encourage others. I will greatly miss her encouragement.

" Don't borrow trouble" was one of her favorite quotes. She told us this so many times. I think of it and her since the 80's all the time. She'll be missed. She kept that office and the rest of us straight!

What a beautiful person. I had the pleasure of working with Frances for 12 years at Robertshaw. She was a loving and caring person. I am better for having known her. Thoughts and prayers with the family.
