Our Aunt Frances was always a great inspiration to me and my sisters during her wonderful life. Since we never knew our father, Joe Campbell, her brother, who was killed in a Naval air accident in 1952, Frances served as our true connection to him, hosting us on great tours of Richmond, searching for Robert E. Lee and Edgar Allen Poe, and then visiting us in California and wherever else we ended up.
She and Bernard were gracious enough to attend our wedding in Wickford, Rhode Island in 1991, perhaps his only trip to "Yankee" New England. They had a great time with our friends and family, enjoying the festivities late into the evenings. Frances brought us a set of inscribed Pewter loving cups from Richmond as a weding gift which, to this day, we use for our Mint Julips and other Virginia Gentlemen concoctions. I'm sure she is still enjoying her very own today.
Our love to her and all her family in Richmond.
Sincerely,
Christopher Campbell and Ramsey Lofton

My aunt Frances was a sweet, kind, caring and generous person devoted to family and friends. She was there for every important occasion in my life while I was growing up. She was fortunate to have been married to three wonderful men whom she cared for during their final illnesses. She also cared for her mother during her final illness.
She was a successful woman in business and was Secretary of the corporation Morton Thalhimer where she worked her entire career.
She had many lifelong friends and met and enjoyed many new friends during her life. She was famous for her Christmas Eve parties for family and friends. She loved New York City and weekends and travels in the U.S. and Europe.
I will miss her loving presence and her sense of humor. Condolences to her step-children and to her other nieces and nephews.
