Frederick Joseph "Joe" Hoffman

HOFFMAN, Frederick Joseph "Joe", 73, passed away in Venice, FL, on September 29, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1949, in Richmond, VA, to Anthony and Rosalie (McDonald) Hoffman. Joe graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1967. He started college at VCU and finished his bachelor's degree at Ashford University. He attended graduate classes at Liberty University. Joe was an Operations Manager working for General Electric for over 15 years and held many management roles throughout his career.

Joe was a devout Catholic, completing several mission trips to Haiti and abroad. He was most recently a parishioner of San Pedro Catholic Church. In his youth and adulthood Joe participated as an alter server. His love of teaching called him to teach CCD & lead catechism classes. Outside of church events he enjoyed cooking, the outdoors, beach going, snorkel, scuba, biking, kayaking, and fishing.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and sage.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Anthony Henry Hoffman, Sr. and Rosalie (McDonald/Hoffman) Phillips.

He is survived by his wife Michelle Johnson, daughter Lisa Hoffman Baez, son Hans (Jolene) Hoffman, grandson Chase Davis, granddaughter Zoey Hoffman, brothers Anthony Henry Hoffman Jr., William Gregory Hoffman, and Charles (Cecilia) Gary Hoffman, and many extended family and friends.

Local services were held October 5 & 6, 2023 with his church community at San Pedro in North Port, FL where he will be interred at the Garden for anyone to come pray with him.

A service will be held in Richmond, Virginia at St. Edwards 10 a.m. on October 28th, 2023 (please contact St. Edwards for details ( https://stedchurch.com/ ).
