Frederick Ornduff Obituary

Frederick (Rick) Eugene Ornduff III, age 71, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and newly blessed great-grandfather, Rick touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick (Gene) and Bonnie Ornduff.

Rick shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Donna, whom he had known since the fourth grade. Their lifelong connection grew into a beautiful partnership built on friendship, loyalty, and deep affection. Together they raised two daughters, Jennifer (DeWayne) and Ashley (James), who were his pride and joy. He was a devoted grandfather to Corey (Lauren), Taylor (Tracey), Austin (Emma), Nic, Bailey (Matt), Jacob, and Eli, and a delighted great-grandfather to three precious great-grandsons. Rick spent many years working as a controller for Robertshaw. In his younger days, he was happiest on the court or the field. A lifelong athlete, Rick loved playing basketball and softball. On the field, he was often known as "Rabbit" because of his remarkable agility and speed-a nickname that captured both his athleticism and his spirited personality. His induction into the Softball Hall of Fame stands as a testament to his dedication, talent, and sportsmanship.

Rick will be remembered most for his unwavering love for his family, his contagious laugh, and his amazing gift for sports trivia-qualities that brought warmth, joy, and spirited conversation to every gathering. He will be deeply missed.
