Gayle Eddleton Obituary

EDDLETON, Gayle Garnett, went to be with the Lord in heaven on July 7, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Perry Garnett and Shirley Taylor Garnett; and most recently by her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Robert "Bobby" Taylor. There are many other aunts, uncles and cousins that will be welcoming Gayle into heaven.

Gayle was taken away from us entirely too soon at the age of 62 due to her courageous three years plus battle with bone cancer. Gayle fought the good fight against her cancer and thanks the Virginia Cancer Institute for everything that they did to help her keep the cancer at bay for as long as possible.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Robert D. Eddleton "Bobby"; her two children, Preston Fox Eddleton and Grace Taylor Eddleton; her brother and his wife, Larry and Barbara Garnett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her last living aunt and uncle are Margaret Garnett and James "Buck" Taylor.

Gayle grew up in Henrico County and graduated with a B.S. from VCU Business School. She spent her entire working career in the paper and printing industry beginning in 1983 with William Byrd Press in Lakeside, Virginia and most recently Gould Paper Company in New York City.

Gayle's infectious laugh and endearing smile made her a friend to all who knew her. She had a great love of animals but was especially fond of cats. One cat, Mr. Cougar "Booda" lived to be more than 18 ½ years old under her care. She also rescued several cats and dogs during her lifetime.

Gayle loved to run and completed the Monument 10k many times over the past 15 years. She loved her family and friends with all her heart. She thanks every one of her neighbors that live on Covington Ridge Court in Kings Charter for all of their love, support and friendship throughout these past many years.

Gayle's family will receive friends and relatives at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. in Richmond, Va. from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. A funeral service and celebration of Gayle's life will be held afterwards starting a 6:15 pm.

No words can comfort the lost . But we all can rest assured she is in no more pain. She is were we all want to go one day. Bobby, Preston and Grace we have watched all of you grow into a wonderful family. Bobby and Gayle raised up a beautiful loving family and we were glad to be along for the journey.
Bobby you remember the canoe trip and y'all got lost supposably. The birthday parties and the gag gifts. The Memorial and July 4 days at Lake Anna .
Watching both Preston and Grace growing up as well as all the others.
Bobby you are not but a phone call away. Please remember that and we welcome hearing from all of you.
