Gayle Smith Koris, 82, passed away on May 28, 2025, in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Born on December 20, 1942, Gayle was a proud graduate of Hermitage High School, Class of 1960. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, wit, and generous spirit. Her sense of humor and helpful nature left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.

Gayle had a deep love for animals and found joy in their companionship. Her warmth and compassion extended to all creatures, reflecting the gentle heart she carried throughout her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Jeff Jeter; granddaughter Allison Jeter; and grandson Austin Jeter. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edith Smith, and her brother Welton Smith.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on June 13 at 3:00 p.m.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
