George Haviland Obituary

George Francis Haviland, 89, of Richmond, passed away on March 18, 2003, having retired from Reynolds International after 45 years of service in South America, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan. George was an avid golfer, a member of Meadowbrook Country Club, the MRTSGA and the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Scott Haviland; son, George William and wife, Linda; daughter, Elaine and her husband, Carlos Brescia; six grandchildren, Dawn, Heather, Gayle and Ashley Haviland, and Laura and Alex Brescia; as well as his seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 8288 Buford Rd. at 11 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michaels Road, Richmond.
