Thinking about my friend Guy Phillips. I just learned of his passing and send my condolences to Guy´s children and extended family. He was my supervisor at EDS when I was a new mom and I remember that he was so kind and fair to all of us. I know you are keeping him and Carolyn close in your hearts this Christmas.

I met Guy when we worked at (what was then called) the Bank of Virginia. Guy was an ideal friend... sincere, respectful and fun to be with. I will miss you greatly my friend.

I worked with Guy at Blue Cross back in the late 70s and 80s, and he was not only a colleague, but a mentor and a friend. He was a wonderful person and truly loved his family. I have fond memories of stories he would tell about the boys when they were very young. My sincere condolences to the family.

Guy Phillips was a kind, and humble man. As a child I spent a lot of time at the Phillips household. Joseph and I were childhood friends and Mr.& Mrs. Phillips always treated me as one of their own. Guy had a way about him, almost like another father figure to me. The last time I saw him was after a morning hunt with Joe. We walked in the house I remembered so well as a child and to no surprise was greeted by Guy with a warm welcoming hug and a hot breakfast. Guy Phillips will be dearly missed. Condolences to the family.

Guy was a joy to be around. We loved seeing him at church, he always had a big smile on his face. He is surely missed.

I started as a programming intern with Blue Cross Blue Shield in the mid-1980s and later became full-time. Guy was assigned to be my mentor. He was always patient and kind as he explained something that he'd been doing for years, but that was new to me. I also remember how proudly and lovingly he spoke of Carolyn, his three sons, and Misty who was quite young then. I did give him a hard time when he told me that he had given Carolyn a toaster for a special occasion (maybe an anniversary?) as I don't consider anything with an electrical plug to be a "gift." He replied, "But it toasts FOUR slices." I'm comforted knowing his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will have their own fond memories of Guy.
