Reverend Plummer became the Pastor of Swansboro Baptist during my youth when it was still located at 2810 Midlothian Turnpike. I believe our father, Deacon George Ridley was Chairman of the Deacon Board. Reverend Plummer guided our church during the transition to Roanoke St. and continued to oversee the church's growth there. A man of God and conviction, Reverend Plummer will be missed! Well done, they good and faithful servant!

Our deepest condolences to the Plummer family. We grew up with him as our pastor. He married my brother, buried my mother and baptize me and my sibling. He has always been a part of our family and will forever be missed, especially his loving smile and kind words of encouragement in our time of need. We will forever be grateful for all the times we shared. May God bless you and the family and we keep you in our prayers. He will always have a special place in our hearts. Rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences and love to the Plummer Family. We are deeply pained and saddened to learn about the passing of Rev. Dr. Herbert Plummer Sr. He was always there for us (The Harris Family) throughout the years and presided over the home-going departures of our family members. His comforting words gave us peace and comfort. We will be forever grateful and hold a special place in our hearts for Herbert.
Rest in Peace, Dear Herbert.

"Don't think of him as gone away his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much." - poem written by Ellen Brenneman
