Hinton Warren Neblett

Hinton Warren Neblett, 90, widower of Edythe Birdsong Neblett, and a lifetime resident of Sussex County, died on August 18, 2003. He was the son of the late Dr. Clarence P. and Minerva Thweatt Neblett. Mr. Neblett was a former president of the Bank of Waverly and remained active in the Waverly bank for more than 54 years. He was a deacon and lifelong active member of Newville Baptist Church. Mr. Neblett was past president of the Waverly Town Council and the Waverly Ruritan Club, a past master of the Waverly Masonic Lodge, and was a former member of the Prince George Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. Mr. Neblett is survived by his son, Carroll F. Neblett and his wife, Anne of Richmond; grandsons, Jeffrey D. Neblett of Cary, N.C., and Evan B. Neblett of Richmond; sister-in-law, Emily Darden Daughtrey and her husband, John of Exmore, Sandra D. McKoy and her husband, Joe of Prince George; and by three nieces, a nephew and two step-granddaughters. Funeral services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 at the Newville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, Virginia, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20.
