Hugh Milmoe Obituary

MILMOE, Hugh Patrick, of Monkton, Maryland, died on December 11, 2023. He was 55 years old. He was husband to Oriet Elizabeth Acker Milmoe and cherished father to his son Hugh Patrick Milmoe Jr and daughter Elizabeth Baldwin Milmoe. His loss is also deeply felt by his parents, Patrick Joesph Milmoe and Carolyn Mann Milmoe of Richmond and Virginia Beach, VA as well as his eldest sister, Mary Kaye Milmoe Chryssicas, and her husband, Theodore James Chryssicas, and nieces Kathleen Tyler Chryssicas and Caroline Ashton Chryssicas and nephew Grant James Chryssicas and sister Caroline Milmoe Pugh and her husband, James Griffith Pugh, and niece Mina Spenzi Pugh and nephew Patrick Griffith Pugh. Hugh was born in Long Island, NY, grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and spent summers fishing in Virginia Beach. He graduated from Collegiate High School (1987) and received his BA from the University of Virginia in English (1991). Hugh had a career in financial services, most recently working at JP Morgan. He received numerous athletic awards during his lifetime, but one of Hugh's greatest memories was joining Team Rubicon in Fort Myers to help veterans with hurricane cleanup. Hugh will be remembered by those who loved him for his hilarious sense of humor, wisdom, extraordinary compassion, relentless work ethic, formidable athletic talents, courage, and abiding commitment to family and friends. His impact was profound and enduring in our lives, and his presence will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 12 noon at St. David's Episcopal Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Hugh will be laid to rest in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the University of Virginia, Hugh's great love, in his memory.
