Jacqueline DuVal Rock FOSTER

FOSTER, Jacqueline DuVal Rock, slipped away on the evening of October 21, 2009. She was born in Farnham, Virginia on June 4, 1923 to Alvin Bravo Rock and Orpha Lewis Rock. Jackie married her beloved Maurice L. "Noots" Foster on February 15, 1947 and was his dedicated and cherished partner for 56 years, until his death on October 2, 2003. She loved gardening and cooking and was a talented seamstress whose devotion to her family was always foremost in her life. Her sweet spirit and abiding love are a rich legacy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Alvah Bohannon of Wilmington, N.C., and their children, Courtney Bohannon Warren and her husband, David, of Altavista and Brooke Bohannon Schubmehl and her husband, Patrick, of Richmond; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Terry Lynn Foster of Mechanicsville, and their daughter, Stephanie Renee Foster of Richmond; her five great-grandchildren, Spenser, Sophie, Lane, Quinn and Tilden. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Rock Malphrus of Fredericksburg; and her brother, Kirby Lee Rock of Tappahannock. The family will receive friends at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Rd., Suite 130, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
