James Baker Obituary

BAKER, James (Jim) M., of Mechanicsville VA left us to go Home with the Lord on November 28, 2023. Jim was 82 years old, born September 3, 1941 in Covington VA. He is survived by his life partner and love, Mary Stanley and their dog Bobby; two daughters, Terri Baker and Michele Baker (Bud); one granddaughter Amanda Baker. He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Talbott; his brother Rodney Baker; his sister Ann Jernigan and Jim's favorite four-legged friends, Buff, Gizmo & Precious; as well as extended family.

Jim retired from Cheek & Shockley after 31 years. He loved to have fun, listening to beach music and relaxing by the pool were two of his favorite things to do. He was a member of the Richmond East Moose Lodge, the Eagles in Petersburg and the VFW.

His loss will be felt across the state by friends and loved ones (two & four-legged). We will always remember and miss his laugh and his love. RIP my love.

A celebration of life will be held January 18, 2024 at the Richmond East Moose, located in Mechanicsville VA. Visitors are welcome from 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we ask to make a donation in Jim's name to Community Hospice House, 1133 Old Bon Air Road, Richmond VA 23235. www.CommunityHospiceHouse.com.
