James Bradshaw Obituary

James Edward Bradshaw passed away Monday, December 2, 2002 at his home in Tappahannock, Va. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He was most proud of being one of the Old Guard from Virginia Tech serving in the Navy during WWII and starting the Bradshaw Agency in 1963. He was the best of the best in the hearts of family and friends. He was born August 23, 1919 in Burkeville, Va., the son of Leroy and Maude Bradshaw. He was the loving husband of the late Julia Wren Bolling. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Tomczak and husband, Randy of Carlsbad, Calif. and Nancy Gottwald and husband, Jim of Goochland, Va. Grandchildren include Christopher St. James of Beverly Hills, Calif., James Matthew Gottwald and Sarah Wren Gottwald, both of Goochland, Va. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Old St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 12291 River Rd. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Tech Foundation, Old Guard, 201 Pack Building, Blacksburg, Va. 24061.
