James Disharoon Obituary

James Paul Disharoon Jr. of Chester, Va., passed away Sunday, November 2, 2003. He was born in Hampton, Va. on May 27, 1924, the son of the late James P. Sr. and Abigail Hummer Disharoon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Patricia McCrea Disharoon. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Kabler Disharoon; sons, James P. Disharoon III and wife, Barbara of Colonial Heights and Edward M. Disharoon and wife, Nancy of Virginia Beach; stepsons, Phillip Kabler of Charleston, West Virginia and John Kabler of Chesterfield; a half-sister, Sarah E. Disharoon of Newport News; and six grandchildren, Mary Ann, Michael, Amy, Matthew, Steven and Mark. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in the chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, with the Rev. G. Thomas Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ivey Memorial United Methodist Memorial Fund, 17120 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Colonial Heights 23834 or the Bensley Bermuda Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 657, Chester, Va. 23831.
