James Alexander Fisher

FISHER, James Alexander, known as Jimmy, was taken far too soon on December 26, 2020, at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Lyman Fisher. He is survived by his mother, Dr. Gwen Fisher; daughter, Sophie Fisher; son, Austin Fisher; siblings, Mark Fisher, Paul Fisher (Diedre) and Ruth Gilson and her husband, Scott Gilson; and former wife, Lorraine Fisher. Jimmy was a graduate of Virginia Tech in Biology and later received an MBA. He was an avid Virginia Tech football fan, attending almost every home game over the past 20 years. He also loved working on remodeling his home and was extremely skilled in woodworking, electrical and plumbing. Jimmy's professional career included time at VCU Department of Toxicology, Hewlett Package, Agilent and most recently Altria, where he was most currently employed. We will always remember his infectious laughter. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 1, at Bliley's-Augusta, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230.
