James Kohout Obituary

KOHOUT, James "Jimmy" Tony, Sr., 91, of Richmond, Va., passed away March 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Kohout; sisters, Josephine Bower and Mary Kossick; and parents, John James Kohout and Annie Mach Kohout. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Joyce Moore Kohout; sons, Dr. James Tony Kohout, Jr., Daniel Mark Kohout; daughter, Deborah Kay Kohout; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. James "Jimmy" Kohout was a loving husband, father of three, grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of 22. "Brother Jimmy" was a faithful servant of God. He served as a member, Deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member, for over two decades at Buford Road Baptist Church, pastored by his eldest son, Dr. Tony Kohout. Brother Jimmy loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and leaves a legacy of faith and service to all those who knew him. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Buford Road Baptist Church, 819 Buford Rd., where a funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va.
