James Ransone Obituary

James Armistead Ransone, 79, died peacefully on December 30, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Saunders (Pat) and Mary Stuart Ransone and his brother, Edward Saunders Ransone, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Carter Ransone Edwards (Travers), brother, John Glenmore Ransone, (Ann), extended family and numerous friends. He was a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge 102, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Richmond chapter and the ACCA Shriners. Visitation will be held at Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, VA on Thursday, February 26 from 5:00 –7:00 PM, with Masonic Rights being held at 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Marks-Bristow Chapel on Friday, February 27 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 287 Ephesus Church Road, Dunnsville, VA 22454.

I am saddened by the passing of Armistead. When I think of him, I think of the beautiful yard he kept at the house on Bruington Road. It was always so well-tended like a picture in a magazine! My condolences to the family and friends.
