Janet Howard Hays, 88, joined the Lord May 6, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Janet was born in Richmond, VA but proudly considered herself an "Ashland (Va) girl". A private interment at Aldingham Cemetery is planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marlboro County Humane Society, 242 State Rd S-35-711, Bennettsville, SC 29512 or the Nurses Honor Guard of South Carolina via PayPal or check sent to 2003 N. Holly St., Anderson, SC 29625. May God Bless and Keep you.

Worked with Janet for many years at SMH. She was funny, kind, and generous and all of us there enjoyed knowing her.
Her signature red hair was her hallmark! We all have our special memories of her and her great sense of humor and will remember her with affection! Adrienne

Dear Cheryl, had to share my wonderful memories of your dear mother...she grew up across the street from my in-laws, the Stewardson´s, and was with me during the birth of my firstborn daughter, Mary Beth, when I was 20 years old, year 1959. She was a wonderful nurse and person and I will never forget her. Sincere condolences to you in the loss of your sweet and fun mother!
