Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Jason R. Arnette US Army Staff Sergeant.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

Well, my son it is that time of the year when the leaves are turning, the days are shorter, the breeze is blowing, the goblins are hollowing. That means that you should be another year older, we are. My heart tells me you were born yesterday but the calender says 32years ago. Happy Heavenly Birthday! I know the stars will be shinning a bit bright on the 7th.
Shelby and I jumped out of perfectly good airplane for you and next year I am going to try to talk Tonya and Sky into doing it as well. I know that was on your Bucket List. I know you are watching over all of us. and you know who to nudge the most and please do they need yours and Dad's help. send them a kick please. (i know you will. I love you and Dad.... MOM

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
You want to go into the record books being famous well, my son you have more than succeded that. This boot was at Ft Campbell, one more at Ft Hood

To Jason's precious family,
I know how much he loved all of you and his friends as well. He was such a great kid! He had so much to share with everyone especially that wonderful smile. I can never go over "his bridge" without missing him. He was truly a blessing to all who met him. May God continue to give comfort for I know that the pain never goes away.

To the family and friends of Staff Sgt Jason Arnette: my 7-year old son chose Jason to honor in his school's "Wall of Remembrance" for Memorial Day. He chose him for the simple reason that they share the same name. We are thankful for his service and honor him for his sacrifice. It is our privilege to remember him this Memorial Day. May God comfort and bless you!

My dear Jason, it was my pleasure and honor decorating "Jason's tree" at ANC on Friday. As people came by on Saturday looking at your tree and taking pictures, reading Shelby's card to you, it touched m y heart and made me smile. But, it was in those quiet moments on Saturday, when it was just you & I, when Mom & Jill went off to bless and be blessed...that I looked into your eyes...and they had that crinkled little smile in them that I realized you are able to watch your tree all the time and that it pleases you that your mom & I had such a good time deorating it, but, that it especially touches you when other parents, spouses and children come and ask if they can put something on the tree. I also smiled when your wreath kept getting moved from the way your mom put it, and we were frustrated as we never saw anyone else move it,so, we figure you didn't like it where it was. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and let me pray with you one on one. I love you, and I love your Mom and sister. It was an honor to be in your presence again this weekend. Thank you for watching over your "earthly" family. Merry Christmas "son"

I was driving through the badlands today and I started thinking about you. The snow was beautiful and the sun was just starting to come up. I was thinking about the madness in Connecticut yesterday when Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" came on the radio. I instantly thought of you and it calmed my fears. April 1, 2007, man that's been a long time. Seems like yesterday. I could go on and on... I mainly just felt the need to say hello, thank you, we miss you, and that I "Wish You Were Here". Merry Christmas old friend.

My *brother,* my hero, my guardian angel, I miss you so very much. I know you watch over us from above. The days are still not nearly as bright without you here on Earth, but the stars shine more intensely as you and Dad shine over us. I still smile at your protective big brotherly ways. I am still in awe of your adventurous ways (I am determined to sky dive for you sometime soon!). I'm inspired by you every day as I think of your determination and hope for a better tomorrow. Happy heavenly birthday to you! I will take your day to celebrate you, our many memories, and your huge heart. Love and miss you dearly. Please keep watching over us and helping us live life with courage, strength, love, imagination, and optimism!

Jason was My Brother who helped me through 2 deployments. He was one of Mine, a person in my platoon and under my care. As his Medic I had lots of paperwork and He helped me with all of my "cat herding" admin activities and truly became my friend. Our third Deployment together I had moved on to another assignment within my parent company and "retired" as a Line medic. The Day Jason was taken from us it was one of the worst days of my life. I remember it as it was yesterday and still my heart aches from it. I have lost many of my combat brothers But Jason is still one of the hardest for me to accept. It was that day and today I still get teary at the loss of such a great friend and soldier. RIP Brother, I will never forget you.

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 3,370 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 247 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. PROUD AMERICANS
by: Margaret L. Angerer
There are millions of proud Americans,
How many we can't say.
Thousands have gone before us
And with their lives did pay.
So with these words,
Fresh in my mind,
I say to the military;
Of every kind:
"Thank you all,
For risking your lives;
For leaving your families,
Your children, your wives.
Thank you each one
For all that you do;
For protecting our nation,
Our RED WHITE & BLUE".
May God bless you all and keep your safe.
My thanks to every person in Armed Forces of the United States.

Oh, Brother.
Where should I begin?
I’m in the car alone again.
It’s where I find myself sorting
Through all of my feelings.
It’s just my way of dealing.
I know it won’t bring you back to me,
But remembering helps me see
I don’t want you to be forgotten.
It’s all too much.
I still need you and such.
Your protective ways still make me smile.
Your adventurous behaviors still seem worth while.
Your story telling still entertains.
Your determination continues to motivate.
And your hope for a better tomorrow still captivates.
Although you’re life ended too soon, in fact,
You made a huge impact.
Not just because you are an American hero who fell.
You were also a person who could do anything he put his mind to.
I will keep you with me in all that I do.
Whether the memories bring smiles or tears,
Remembering keeps you here.
Oh how I miss you so.
Please keep me strong
So I can keep on keepin’ on.
Miss & Love You, Jason <3. The days are not nearly as bright without you but the stars are more intense - when I look to the stars, they take my breath away as I am flooded with wonderful memories of you and Dad. Although I am overwhelmed with feelings of despair at times, I keep on keepin’ on. I am going to continue making you proud and live life to its fullest, as I know you would want me to.
Tomorrow, you will become famous in a small town: SSG Jason R. Arnette Memorial Bridge!

This time of year is so hard...I think back to 2 years ago when you surprised everyone by getting leave to come home for Sky's December graduation. What joy you brought us all! Jason,
I'm a JROTC instructor at ACHS, Va-962. You had graduated and enlisted into our US Army before I started working at the school but I've taken our cadets to your grave at Arlington National Cemetery and my family and me visit your grave when I go to my step fathers grave in Arlington. I hope to meet up with the runners doing the "Run for the Fallen" and run in your honor this week (Aug 18 - 21). Although we've never met, I feel like I know you. We share a common friend (LtCol Whitaker). I met your mother and wife during the memorial services in the auditorium and at the high school graduation in the gym where you were inducted into the Amelia County High School Hall of Fame. As a retired military member I sincerely appreciate your service and the ultimate sacrifice you paid defending our nation. I salute you and pray for peace for your family. Hoo Raa (Airpower).

Jason, as I sit here rereading the entries and remembring such a great kid, my heart breaks anew. I talked with Steven last night and know that he still grieves for you so deeply. I think back over the times I was able to spend with you and the rest of the soccer team. What joy and happiness y'all shared! I don't think there will ever be another team of teens that enjoyed the game as much as y'all did. I can still see you and Steven jumping and high-fiving and hugging over a great stop, kick, block! That's how I remember you - so young, full of such a joy and love of life. You were already a leader then. I am so glad that Steven and I were blessed by your friendship. Lots of people needed to know you and the rest of the soocer team - then they would know just how great the youth of this great nation really are. You always were so well mannered and polite - win or lose - y'all were just the best. Time eases the pain some but it will never be completely gone for that would mean forgetting you and that just can't happen. You were the finest example of what all American youth should be! May your family and friends enjoy the memories and always know that there are folks out here who will always be saying a prayer for them. Until we are rejoined in that glorious Heaven where you now live...

A man of honor was lost on this great day.
Thought lost on this earth, found his place in the lands above.
Spent his life protecting this world, now is a guard of the heavens above.
Was lost but may never be forgotten.
For he is one of the honnored ones.
One of the unforgettable.
Shall we praise this day with glory in honor of him.
No tears of saddness or angry
only tears of strength and honor
What honor to have known such a man.
A man with a heart bigger than us all.
If we all could have seen the world through his eyes.
What a blessing that would have been.
To you mother I write this.
For you are a mother to many now.
Every soldier is in your honor.
For we will never forget your Jason.
We are a family, we are one.
The ones who give it all to live in the land of the free.
A never dying love,
Jae

Jason, there are still many hearts out here with holes in them. But we will keep you alive in those hearts forever. Your momma misses you everyday but we are taking care of her. See ya next Saturday at the wedding.

One Year ago Today
a Mother lost a son, sisters lost a brother, our MF family lost a son, our nation lost a Hero. Jason you will always be in our hearts and mind.
Soldier
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go
He protects the world we live in,
He protects the love we share,
He protects the freedom of his unborn children,
He protects the home he left behind, as he stands guard.
He's thought of constantly,
By his friends and family,
He's wanted back home,
Back in the arms of love, as he stands guard.
He created the freedom we posses,
He is the strength that we don't,
He is the pride that keeps us going,
He is the mystery in white, as he stands guard.
He is a son,
He is a brother,
He is a friend,
He is a lover,
He is the soul that binds,
He is the soldier that stands guard.

Dearest Jason,
This is the first anniversary of the day we lost you, the worst day of our lives. We still miss you so much it hurts, and our hearts break anew with every US death in Iraq. Please know that we will never forget you, and that we will keep working for peace until all our troops come home. Love you forever,
Mom-in-Law Corry and Dad-in-Law Roger. Hugs from Sis-in-Law Elora too!
