He was born and raised on April 20, 1979, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and was a graduate of Parkersburg High School ('97) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University ('01). Jason was most recently employed by Henrico County as a Capital Projects Division Manager. He was an avid Virginia Tech football fan and loved all Chicago sports (especially the Cubs). He also enjoyed cooking for his family, watching his boys play soccer, playing golf with friends and family, and fishing on the pier. He cherished spending time with his adoring pups. Jason will be missed by many that loved him dearly. The world has lost a truly kind man with a quiet, steady strength.

I shall remember my kind neighbor Jason.

Jason was one day younger than me and I was fortunate to get to spend my childhood playing sports with him. He was by far one of the best athletes I was blessed to call a teammate. I think we played about every sport Parkersburg had to offer both as opponents and teammates. I admired his competitiveness and his loyalty to friends. I was always trying to be cool enough to hang out with him and his friends. His tight group of friends (Jeremy, Arun, Travis, Jason, etc) had a unique bond that made it fun to just watch them together. I cannot image how difficult this is for his family and friends. My family is praying for your comfort and for God to use this to bring you closer to each other and to Him. I could type up dozens of memories of Jason saving me from certain goals in soccer or hitting the winning run, but the memories that will stick with me the most are when his serious demeanor would shift to a giant smile that would cover his entire face when we would pull something special off. I imagine that is the same smile that covered his face when he met Sarah, and when he first held Thomas and Christian, and when he walked into the gates of Heaven!
