Jean Ellen West Pino

1948 - 2024

PINO, Jean Ellen West, Jean Ellen West Pino, age 75, of Powhatan, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2024, peacefully, and surrounded by those she loved the most. She was preceded in death by her parents, Golden and Jean West, her son-in-law, Drew, and her husband, Bob. She is survived by her son, Robert Schiele, wife, Helen, and grandson, Christopher; her daughter, Sarah Spencer (Mark); and sister Frances (Roonie) Kimbrough, her husband, Lud, and nephews, Blake (Julia) and Miles (Lindsay). Mrs. Pino was a member of Passion Community Church where she devoted her time to help spread the word and love of God. She was an accomplished pianist and singer and was very proud member of The Lamplighters while in college at VCU. She went on to teach chorus at Robious Middle School before having her two beloved children and taking time to be with them when they were young. She then taught preschool at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, was the director of music at Welbourne United Methodist Church, and taught elementary school in Cumberland County before retiring. She and Bob were members of PCC for many years, and this is where she absolutely thrived. Her favorite things to do were spending time with family, reading, doing crossword puzzles, her daily devotions, and sharing her love of music and Jesus with everyone she met.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m. located at Passion Community Church, 4480 Anderson Hwy, Powhatan, VA 23139. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Passion Community Church, the Passion Community Church Memorial Fund, or please consider making a donation to the Bon Secours Community Hospice House located in Old Bon Air.
