Joan was a truly remarkable person whose vibrant spirit, warmth, and dedication to helping others touched so many lives. Her boundless positivity and resilience were an inspiration, reminding us all to live with purpose and joy. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to uplift us, and her impact on those she helped will never be forgotten. Her spirit will be kept alive in all our hearts through the love and memories we shared with her.

This song lyric reminds me of Joan: "It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you - It's what you leave behind you when you go." And you left so many sparkles of your life that will shine on in my life as a remembrance of you FOREVER.

Mrs. Hodges taught me so many values. Like my friend Sarah said, she supported everyone. She always made class so much more fun and really let everyone express themselves differently. Dear Mrs. Hodges we will cherish you forever. You were one of my favorite teachers in 2022 to 2023. 6th was amazing because of you and I truly hope you´re in a better place now.

She was my favorite teacher. She always looked out for me and was kind to me. She was a light at Holman, always showing kindness and support to everyone. I will miss her so much and remember all of the amazing memories in her classroom.

Mrs. Hodges was my middle school teacher. She was full of love and wisdom and always had the right answer to my problems. She was a teacher I had so much trust in and influenced me to become an educator. I´m currently in college majoring in elementary education and always think about her when someone asks me "why do you want to become a teacher"

Our thoughts and prayers to the Hodges and Crown families... We are so sorry for your loss. I was in high school with Joan and always knew her to be very friendly, an achiever and a wonderfully fun personality. May you feel God's enduring love, strength, comfort and peace in every prayer, card, hug and act of kindness. God bless and keep you through this difficult and sad time. We are thinking of you. I only knew Joan very briefly. Yet, in that short time, a connection grew that helped me through the process of losing my own Joan, my beloved Mom, who was also a gifted teacher. I do hope their energies mingle. Surely something miraculous will happen.

It´s hard to believe she´s gone. I know she´s in Heaven and will be watching over your family. From what I´ve heard, she made the world a better place, she is still loved.

I'm so sad to know the bright vibrant light that was Joan is no longer here. Her laughter and wit was legendary. I'm blessed that I got to hug her one last time in July. My love and sympathies to her family. Nicky
