Joan Jude Obituary

Joan Marie Jude

August 24, 1938 - June 27, 2025

Joan M. Jude, 86, of Richmond, VA, went home on Friday, June 27, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her husband, TD Jude; her parents, Helen and William Anderson; her son, David Jude and her grandson, Jason Jude; her sister, Jean Russo; her brothers, Ryland, Richard, Dennison Singleton and twins, Cary and Gary; and her stepsisters, Lillie Glass, Hazel Able and Dee Able.

She is dearly missed by her children, Wayne (Joan), Debbie (Mark), and Gary; her niece, Deborah; her daughter-in-law, Penny; along with her three grandchildren, Ashley (Ralph), Drew (Allie), and Brittany (Colin), and eleven great-grandchildren.

Joan loved going to church, loved her family, and was caring to a fault. She was sweet and loving but never afraid to tell you like it was, blending soft and tough, fire-cracking love into a perfect package. For 62 wonderful years, she and her husband cherished one another. Nothing could keep her from a game of bingo, whether it be the weather or the end of the world, itself.

Services will be held at Joan's church, Discovery United Methodist Church, 13000 Gayton Rd., Richmond, VA 23233, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends and guests one hour prior to the beginning of the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made in Joan's memory to her home church, Discovery United Methodist Church.
