JoAnn Rector

RECTOR, JoAnn, departed this life in Richmond, Va., at the age of 89. JoAnn lived an active life, enjoying travel, outdoors and the company of her family and good friends. She was born May, 1932 in Kentucky – graduating from Simon Kenton High School in 1950. She went to work for Western Southern Life Insurance Co. In 1951, she met and married Roy Rector and moved to Lexington, Ky., where Roy was entering his senior year at the University of Kentucky. In 1973, they moved to Richmond. In 1975, JoAnn joined Century Supply Co. until her retirement. She is survived by her loving husband Roy of 70 years; her sons, Dan, Jeff (Kathy); and daughter, Cindy (John); nine grandchildren, Danielle, Travis, Taylor, Thomas, Rachel, Kristen, Jennifer, Lauren and John; great-grandchildren, Marla, Aubrey, Bayla, Krozby, Silas, Will, Joe, Jax, Levi, Ezra, Haddie Mae and Ginny Ann. Wherever she lived she was active in church, serving her Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at Winns Baptist Church, 12320 Winns Church Road, Glen Allen, Va., with visitation to begin one hour prior to the service. Interment in Winns Baptist Church Cemetery.
