Bardstown, Kentucky, the fourth of eight children born to Charles and Lucille Blair. He grew up in Bardstown and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Those who knew him well remember his devotion to Kentucky basketball instilling this same love for the game and the team in the hearts of his children.
