Foister Taylor

Foister Taylor, 80, of Versailles, and widower of Geraldine Carol Stafford Taylor passed away at home while under hospice care on Saturday, February 21, 2026. A Bell County native, he was born to the late Grant Taylor and Josie Miracle Taylor on December 4, 1945. He was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church of Versailles.

Foister is survived by his son, Steven Foister (Deanna) Taylor; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; friends; and his church family. In addition to his loving wife of 56 years and his parents, he was preceded in passing by one son, Raymond Lee Taylor; three brothers, Jennings, Johnny, and Henry Taylor; and two sisters, Opal Wilder and Betty Sue Abney.

He was a graduate of Bell County High School and went on to earn a business degree from Spencerian College in Louisville. Foister had a career as a truck driver, with Standard Oil in Michigan and McLane Trucking in Lexington. He retired from the City of Lexington, where he worked as a truck driver and for the water treatment division.

Foister's enjoyed gardening and mowing grass on his farm in Versailles.

His wish was to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.

His family is encouraging donations in his memory to Clover Bottom Baptist Church, 6321 Fords Mill Road, Versailles, KY 40383.
