John Ellis Obituary

John Warren "Buck" Ellis, 81, of Richmond, Va., died Monday morning, March 14, 2005. John was born in Roanoke, Va., a son of the late John C. and Odell Brooks Ellis. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and was retired from Lebanon Chemical Company as sales manager with 36 years of service. John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine "Penny" Ellis; and is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John Michael "Mike" and Joyce Ann "J.J." Ellis of Richmond; his grandsons, Warren Michael Ellis and Craig Stephen Ellis, both of Richmond; his sister, Shirley Grubb and husband, Curtis, of Roanoke; an aunt, Beulah Hensley of Salisbury, N.C.; a nephew and a niece; brother-in-law, Ralph Pendleton and wife, Norma, of Rockville, Md. A graveside service will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Friday, March 18, 2005, 1 p.m., with the Rev. Tracie Hensley officiating. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
