Important Update: A religious, fraternal and military memorial service for family and friends will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021 (John's birthday), at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230. This service will be livestreamed at reellyfeproductions.com.
Pastor Vander Warner will lead us in a spiritual devotion. The Masons will provide fraternal honors. A short movie of pictures celebrating life and memories will be shared by family and friends. The U.S. Navy will render military honors.
Please join us – attire is summer casual, comfortable.

It was my joy to know John these past 14 months. He was so kind, sweet and loving- a gentleman, wonderful companion, Bible reading partner and more. His fervor for the Lord was insatiable and he was always eager to open God´s Word and absorb the instruction of the day. I miss John. I am blessed to have known him on this side of Glory and I look forward to seeing him again. My condolences to Aliza and John Andrew, Dexter plus Mama Theresa, Helena, Julie and Mike.

My sincere condolences to all Mr. Emory's family and friends. I worked with him not long after I graduated from Freeman. While I didn't know him on a personal level, it was my loss. I respected him as leader. I am thankful for the difference he made in my life as I know he made in others lives. Again, my sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Emory.

John had so many terrific qualities and was a very spiritual loving man...a blessing to many. John was thoughtful, kind, intelligent, and loved his children so much. Always took pleasure in the little things of life. Inspiring to me on so many fronts. I will miss my dear friend. May God rest your dear soul.
