LIBBY, John "Jack" Luther, passed away with loved ones at his side May 27, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born in Richmond, VA, on March 20, 1950 to the late Luther Libby Jr. and Virginia Payne Harwood.

Jack, lovingly known as Uncle Jack, is survived by his stepsister Ellen Satchell, his stepbrother Oscar Concrad "Sandy" Thacker; his nephews Gregory Luce and Jason Satchell (Julie), his niece Emily Vera (Jacob); and his beloved dog Rue. Jack served as a deputy sheriff for the City of Richmond for many years. He was very proud of his family's heritage and history involving Libby Prison. So sorry to hear this sorrowful news. Jack was a close friend growing up and we had many memorable events and good times, especially those at the "Libby Hilton". Rest in Peace my friend.
