Joseph Beasley Obituary

BEASLEY, Joseph Webb, age 19, died on October 24, 2007. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Marie Beasley. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elizabeth Farmar Thrift of Irvington; his father, Thomas W. Beasley Jr. and his wife, Christi of Farnham; two brothers, Thomas W. Beasley III of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Tripp Thrift of the home; grandparents, Richard A. and Katherine H. Farmar of Warsaw; Thomas W. and Sandy Beasley of Farnham, and Lorena Sanford of Warsaw; aunts and uncles, Rick and Sue Farmar of Warsaw, Kay and Wayne Strickland of Roanoke, Ayn and Gary Coates of Lynchburg, and Rodney Beasley of Newland; great-aunts and -uncles, Gloria Smith of Warsaw, Shirley B. Barrack of Robley, Buster Beasley of Farnham, and Deannie Craft of Ashland; cousins, Mary Jesse and Suzy Farmar of Warsaw, Charlie Houck of Charleston, S.C., Mac Houck of Asheville, N.C., Katey Houck of Roanoke, Kelsey and Katherine Coates of Lynchburg; special friends, Katie Gilman, Donny and Connie Gilman of Gloucester; and his special dogs, Ethel and Pennie. Joe was charismatic, compassionate, fearless, and fun-loving. A passionate lover of life, he was artistically talented, mechanically gifted, and a hard worker. He enjoyed fishing, contact sports, and being on the water, but, most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family. Even though he was with us for a short time, he touched the lives of all those he met with his beautiful smile and vibrant personality. Joe will be greatly missed by all. In deep appreciation for their special care, thanks go to the Richmond County Rescue Squad; the Richmond County VFD; VA State Trooper, Ona Moody; the Flight Nurse, Tristan Fensterman; and Flight Paramedic, Louis Seay of LifeEVAC; the MCV Surgical Trauma ICU team; Dr. Dwayne; and the ICU nurses, Katie, Tanya, and Tracy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Warsaw Baptist Church, with burial in Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel, this evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American SIDS Institute, 509 Augusta Drive, Marietta, Ga. 30067.

To The Beasley family I am so sorry for your loss and you have my sympathy. I have heard nothing but great things about Joe and how he could put a smile on anyone's face. One quote that helps me the most is with the tragic death of my son is: Always A Blessing, Never A Loss meaning he will always be in your heart. If you need anything or want to talk let me know.
