Just recently I ran into an old friend, who told me Joe had died last May. Joe and I were "best friends" in high shool at Cardinal Gibbons. We met as 9th graders, taking the long bus ride across town from Towson to Gibbons. We shared a love for sports. He was a great friend to me all during high school until leaving for U. of Richmond. Despite only speaking sparingly with Joe after he left town, I consider Joe to have been one of the important people in my life. Joe knew how to have fun, but he also knew how to be safe and not go too far with things. He was also a good soul and a kind-hearted guy. I knew Joe really well and I have nothing but good thoughts and memories of him. My deepest sympathy goes to his family for what must be a huge loss. I have no doubt that he was a good husband and father. One of the good guys has passed away.

What can I possibly say about this terrible tragedy? I didn't learn of Joe's death until a week after the fact. I am truly sorrowed to hear that God has called one of his warmest, kindest angels home. I played softball for Joe and with Mandy. I have missed all of them since everyone moved away from Richmond, and I wish now more than ever that I could be there for the family. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences for this loss. God rest Joe's soul and help the family feel comfort in this painful time. We all loved Joe as a coach, as a "Dad," and as a friend.

Don and I were so sorry to hear about Joe. We didn't learn of his paasing until Tuesday afternoon. Joe coached our granddaugther Amanda Mitchell at Tuckahoe Little League. What a time we had and such memories. Joe also coached with my brother Raymond Jeter. I was just looking at softball pictures a few weeks ago and there was Joe on a hot July day pumping up a bunch of young women to do the best they could to win the championship.
Our heartfelt sympathy go out to your family. Joe was loved by many.

I worked with Joe for 2 years until Jan. 2000 when I moved to Minnesota. He was a wonderful man. I loved to listen to him talk about his great passion, fishing. I remember when I visited his river home how many fishing rods he had. I didn't know that there could possibly be a need for that many different poles. He patiently explained to me their many diffences, just like he approached managing his people at work, with a kind and gentle heart. I can still hear his laughter. I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

My heart-felt sympathies go out to "Elvis'" family. Joe (a/k/a Elvis) had a wonderful sense of humor and was a super person to have worked with. He's the big fish that got away and the community has suffered a great loss.

My friend JD:
Although I knew Joe for nine short months in a professional relationship, I am glad that we had no unfinished personal business. We said the things to each other that mattered. I miss him already, but look forward to seeing him again in the invisible kingdom.
The Light of the Lord will carry the family through this darkness.
Peace and Love,
