My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the Family & Friends of Joyce. We didn't keep in touch after we graduated like we all said that we would. But I have wonderful memories of Joyce from school. She had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh and an outgoing personality. I remember a few years back when a former classmate sent out a letter asking for help and prayers for Joyce. I still have the thank you note she sent me. Rest in peace Joyce.

To the whole Cox Family,
I have always considered the Cox Family as my own and being the loving family you all are I know it is the same way. The Cox Family is one of a kind and if anyone had the opportunity to have at least one Cox member part of your life you are grateful. I've had from Granny to one of the youngest members so I have good memories of the fun we've had.
The passing of Joyce is like losing an aunt. I will miss the delicious bread she would bake (what a great cook she was), but truly I will miss her and her kindness.

I love all of you and God bless,

Carolyn Green

Joyce, today was your funeral and what an event it was. But before the services started, I was in your room holding your pillow and didn't want to come out. Bubba came in the room and told me that they were gathering in the front yard for prayer. Only then did I leave. For so many year you were my best friend. I remember the times when I would call you and Mom every morning when I got to work and we would laugh so hard that I had tears coming out of my eyes. My co-workers thought that something was wrong but I would just wave them away saying that "Oh, it't only my Mom and crazy sister on the line". Only two people knew everything about me and that was you and Mom, and now both of you are gone. You were always a pioneer in my eyes. You were the last of my sisters to come into this world and the first to leave. Words cannot express how much I will miss you. But I thank GOD for having a sister like you.
Love Always,
Lady

To the Cox Family,
Joyce and I were classmates and I will always remember her beautiful smile. A great memory that comes to mind is the fun we had in Mrs. Godley's Home Economics class - learing to sew and cook (supposedly).

My prayers and thoughts are with you. I encourage you to lean on God during this time. I am a witness and can testify to His ability to show up when you need Him...especially in times of loss. Trust Him to be everything you need and know you're not alone because God is with you.

Family,

We have lost our Aunt,Sister and Friend...... But know that the Lord has gained one of his most precious Angels. We all loved/love Aunt Joyce in our own special way. The only thing we can do now is remember all the good times we shared with her while we were Blessed to have had her with us this long. It has been a very emotional week for all of us, each of us thinking about how we are going to react and or feel when we say our final good-byes. Just know that Granny and Auntie will be smiling down upon us. Through our tears our pain will heal and through our hearts Joyce Alberta Cox will be remembered eternally. I love Yall.

You have truly been an inspiration and blessing to me, personally. Whenever the family got together, you and I would talk, and even though you were dealing with your illness, you always took the time to ask me how I was doing, as well as my children and grandchildren. I admired you for your strength, caring, and the love and acceptance you shown me the seven years I have been in your presence. I love you and will truly miss you and our conversations. REST IN PEACE!!

I am sorry to hear about Joyce and her passing. I remembered the times we shared in school and how crazy we all were in those days. I have not kept in touch with her through out the years but her memories will always remain. I can remember a time, when we were in shcool one early morning. There was a bat, we all took off running and laughing. Now she is running to be with her only truly love (God). May God bless her family and keep his peace over them.
