Karen Duke Obituary

DUKE, Karen Carrington, passed away on August 8, 2021, with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael A. Duke; daughter, Jessica M. Duke (Paul); mother, Carole C. Johnson; brother, David A. Carrington (Michele); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ollie and Ellie Cimaglia; niece, Sydney A. Carrington; and special friend, Cathryn Rose. Karen was co-owner of the Victorian Fireplace Shop with her husband, Mike. She was one of those rare individuals who had many talents, excelling in several. She had considerable knowledge and expertise in marketing and web design and was most generous in sharing that information with others. One of her proudest achievements was the development and management of the shop's extensive website, which has been highly praised by both customers and suppliers. An avid gardener, as demonstrated by her beautiful gardens, Karen was extremely knowledgeable of all types of flowers and vegetables. She took much pleasure in planting various seeds and nurturing them to fruition. Being a gourmet cook and self-assured, Karen would try any recipe any time, whether for family or guests. Daisy Mae Duke, a miniature Golden Doodle, came into Karen's life in December 2020, bringing her tremendous joy, love and companionship, as well as a number of destroyed items. However, it was love at first sight. Karen loved and was loved by her family deeply and will be tremendously missed. Due to the pandemic, a celebration of Karen's life will be held at a later date.
