Kathleen Morton Obituary

Kathleen Hedrick Morton

July 1, 1951 - June 6, 2025

Kathleen Morton, 73, of Moseley, VA, went to be with God on June 6, 2025, after a brief battle of colon cancer. Kathy was surrounded with love and prayers by her husband and daughter as she peacefully passed.

She pursued her passions of art, flower design, and gardening, traveling to her happy place of Beaver Creek, CO, and creating beautiful bows for her church whenever she could. Her greatest gift and job was being a stay-at-home mom, raising her daughter, Nicole.

She leaves behind a husband of 38 years, Rick; her daughter, Nicole Ryan; her son-in-law, Thomas; her granddog, Shelby Blue; her beloved Scottie dog, Kaylee; her stepdaughter, Erica Morton; her three grandchildren, Caitlyn, Ryan, and Rachel; her best friend and sister, Susan Marling; and countless other family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Patricia and William Hedrick; and her brother-in-law, Roger Marling.

Services and a celebration of Kathy's life will be held later this year at Bon Air Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Feed More or the American Cancer Society in her name.

I'm very sad about the death of Kathy. She was a lovely person. I especially admired how well she cared for her mother and others at Chesterfield Heights. She will be missed!
