Kenneth Brimer Obituary

BRIMER, Kenneth "Ken" G., 75, of Petersburg, Va., formerly of Pocomoke, Maryland, departed this life on July 21, 2007. He was a Master Sergeant who retired from the Army after 22 years and served in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. Mr. Brimer served as a commander of VFW Post 2239 from 2000 to 2001 and was a very active member of Highland United Methodist, and will truly be missed by everyone. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of 53 years; one son, Douglass Ford and wife, Barbara of Chester, Va.; one daughter, Linda J. Holley and fiance' William Cottee of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, Kimberly A. Chitwood and husband, Greg of Ferrum, Va., Wendy M. Melara and husband, Julio of Richmond, Va., Michelle L. Newell of Midlothian, Va., and Kenny D. Holley and wife, Rhonda of Chester, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Austin D. Ford, Tyler D. Chitwood, Alyssa D. Newell, Hannah M. Chitwood, Rachel E. Holley and Reyna E. Melara. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward L. Brimer and Maurice J. Brimer and wife, Janice of Pocomoke City, Md.; one sister, Laura M. Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral services will be held at Highland United Methodist Church on Westover Ave. in Colonial Heights on Thursday, July 26, at 3 p.m. The Reverend Keith Ritchie will officiate. The interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Highland United Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
