Leslie Walter "L.W." Dixon

DIXON, Leslie Walter "L.W.", 77, of Midlothian, passed away August 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lois Carter Dixon; and his parents, William and Katrine Dixon. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Farmer (Michael); son, Scott Dixon; grandchildren, Thomas Dixon, Matthew Farmer, James Dixon and Rebecca Farmer; sister, Judy Saunders (George); and many other loving relatives. Les, who performed as drummer for "The Chevelles" for many years, started playing the drums in the sixth grade. From 1966 to 1972, he served in the U.S. Army. After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University, he went on to serve for 48 years as the Design Engineer for RECO Industries. Les enjoyed woodworking, trips to the Outer Banks, and surf fishing. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A graveside ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 18 at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby's Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.
