Arlene and Family,
Hearing about the loss of Lewis struck a chord that I know must be played in this life, but nevertheless, it's one we always regret to hear. Not only was Lewis family, but he indeed was a close friend, whose bond was only made stronger by the passage of time. The good times that we shared will be treasured for a lifetime. As we know, there is a better place than that one in which we live, so be of good cheer, for I know that Lewis is now residing in that place.

Arlene and Family,
Lewis was a beloved cousin to me and my brother Pat and I will retain those great memories of many times when we laughed with friends Herman Gardener & Tommy Thaniel. The memories were past from one generation to another just like my Dad, Alvin and his Dad - Van had carried on into the wee hours of the morning. They loved each other and they represented real Family. Also, over the years there were sad times we met to mourn our family losses. A freind of mine sent this to me and I'll always keep. Dearest Arlene, may all your days be filled with sunshine and God;s blessings.
Hopefully, It will provide some comfort to you and your family.
This piece was attributed to Herry Scot Holland, Canon of St.
Paul's Cathedral.
"Death is nothing at all. I have slipped away into another room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old famliar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of soleminity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Pray,
smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was; let it be spoken without affect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well."
