Lucile Michaels Obituary

MICHAELS, Lucile (Ciel) Cross, age 60, of Richmond, died June 16, 2007. She is survived by her son Ben Michaels; a sister, Virginia Orr and her husband, Ed; nephews, Michael and Julie Orr and their children, Matt and Britney, Bob and Kathy Orr and their children, Michael and Sydney; and many friends in Richmond who have been her family here. Ciel is retired from Laboratory Corporation of America, member and past president of Richmond Society of Clinical Laboratory Scientists, and member of Jahnke Road Baptist Church. Memorial service and reception will be held 2 p.m. on June 23, 2007 at Jahnke Road Baptist Church, 6023 Jahnke Rd., Richmond, Va. 23225. Entombment at National Memorial Cemetery in Falls Church, Va. will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Camp Alkulana, Richmond Baptist Association, 3111 Moss Side Ave., Richmond, Va. 23222; or Jahnke Road Baptist Church. Arrangements made by Bliley Funeral Homes.

I will miss you - my birthday sister !! You loved the fact that I was 8 hours older than you. I will miss our email chatter and holiday letters. I feel honored to have known you for over 20 years. We met at CBL and then RBL-fellow medical technologists. We shared so much as we raised our boys together - wonderful memories. You left your mark and deeply touched so many lives with your love of God and saw the goodness of everyone you met. Ms. Michaels had a positive impact on me while I attended Jahnke Road Baptist church as a young girl. She was always active with the youth. I'll never forget the time her hair clips flew out of her hair into the woods as she rode the Grizzly at Kings Dominion! :) :) :)

I met Ciel and Ben when I first started attending Jahnke Road as a child. I will always have fond memories of Ciel from vacation bible school and the trips that we took, to the visits to her home when I was in youth group. Her leadership and big heart will be dearly missed.

Ciel, the world is a little less bright without you. You have been an inspiration to so many of us. I am so thankful that you have been in our lives. The love and guidance that you shared with my sons, Lars and Curtis has helped to shape their lives. For one lady to reach out and touch so many is a testament to what Christianity should be. It is awful to hear about her dying! She was such a strong, smart, and kind woman dedicating so much of her time for God and people. She will be greatly missed on this earth! I am sure God has a great spot for her in Heaven.

When I think of the nicest woman I've ever met I always think of Ciel. I met Ciel years ago in 1992 she and my mother worked together for years and were friends. She gave my daughter her first Bible and my daughter still has it today. She will be greatly missed.

Ceil Was a huge influence in my life as a child, teenager and women. She has been in my life through Jahnke Road as long as I can remeber. She always had positive and spiritual things to say to me. She guided me through tough times and good. We had so much fun At camp Alkulana and Camp Willow Run on Youth Trips. Ceil was one of the most amazing christian women I have ever met. She always boasted with Gods love and never missed a moment to share with everyone.. May she always rest in peace. She will always be in my heart. Love you Ceil
