Marc Alden Jacobs

1951 - 2022

JACOBS, Marc Alden, 71, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from end stage renal disease.

Marc is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carla Lindquist Jacobs of Richmond, Va.; two children, Melissa Linkous (Jason) of Mechanicsville, Va. and Matthew Jacobs of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Madalyn and Jacob Linkous. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry; and uncle, Morris Lipsitz.

Marc was born on June 30, 1951, to the late Milton and Rae (Lipsitz) Jacobs in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he studied at John Tyler Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University, while working full-time in the family business, Jacobs Music. After many years in the family business, he left to become an independent sales representative for many different musical instrument companies. He loved what he did and refused to retire, still working up until two weeks before his death. Please support your local music store.

He was an avid baseball fan who loved watching his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. They brought him considerable enjoyment but not as much as their World Series win last season. He also loved umpiring high school and collegiate softball for 20 years. Marc loved to be in the kitchen, especially using his smoker. He had a bit of a shopping addiction but always loved to find a bargain!

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2 p.m. at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, with interment to follow in Chesed Memorial Park - Forest Lawn.
