Marie Robertson

ROBERTSON, Marie, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed away peacefully and rejoined her beloved husband, William "Tubby" Robertson on June 28, 2023, after a short illness. She is survived by her children, Scott Grant, Kathy Guymond (Grant), Amy Ladd, David Robertson (Tina) and Billy Robertson (Jennifer); 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Marie was known for her whit and outlandish behavior. Funny, quick and loved a good laugh. By the time she was 19 she had three children, she met Robbie and they were married in 1966. They had four children and provided a wonderful life for their family. She was a leader and pioneer in reestablishing Highland Springs Little League Baseball in the 1980s. She was the President of the league and integral part in leading the HSLL 13-year-old junior league who became Virginia State champions in 1991. In addition, she worked many years in pupil transportation with Henrico County Public Schools. She also drove spectators to the Olympics in Atlanta, Ga. in 1996. She loved God, Family, Laughing and making others laugh. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5 from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, support your local youth athletic associations.
