Marilyn Gallmeyer Obituary

GALLMEYER, Marilyn, was called home by the Lord on May 31, 2024, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. Cavedo and Mattie Lienhart; her sisters, Jean Gary, Linda O'Berry, and Wilma Fleming; her son, Louis Gallmeyer II; and granddaughter, Jessica Gallmeyer. Marilyn was a dental assistant in Highland Springs for nearly fifty years. She dedicated her life as the original Matriarch of Gallmeyer Farms, and her spirit will live on through the business founded with her husband, Bill. The Berry Patch, The Veggie Stand, The Pumpkin Patch, and Marilyn's flower gardens are a living legacy to Marilyn's courage, tenacity, and her desire to share her love of growing things and serving Henrico citizens. Marilyn's smile, enthusiasm, love, and dedication to the core values of family, farming, and Faith will be missed by all. Marilyn is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Gallmeyer of Sandston; daughter, Lori Hoover of Henrico; son, Stephen Gallmeyer Sr (Nancy) of Henrico; nephew, Robert Gary of Gloucester; nephew, Anthony Gary of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Stephen Gallmeyer Jr of New Kent, Zachary Gallmeyer of Clayton, NC, Patrick Gallmeyer of Clayton, NC, Louis Gallmeyer III of Clayton, NC, Candice Gallmeyer of Virginia Beach, Andy Sheldon of Sandston, Chris Sheldon of Sandston, Clint Hoover of Midlothian; and great grandchildren, Lincoln and Annabelle Hoover of Midlothian.

The family will receive friends, 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 6, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, where a funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Friday, June 7. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.

Marilyn was so faithful to Bill´s sister when she could no longer live alone. Marilyn mastered the challenge of caring for her everyday, which shows her dedication to family.
Marilyn will be missed by all who knew her. My sympathy to Bill and Lori and Steve and the family.

Marilyn was such a sweet person. She will surely be missed. We lived just a few doors apart when growing up on South Holly Ave. In Highland Springs.
